Repairs to Video tape - where possible. Analogue video tapes go through Time Base Correction (TBC) before transfer to file/USB/Hard Disk drive. TBC equipment is used for stability, colour shift, and enhancement of the video signal. This process can also be used in the tape to tape transfer. This helps to get the best out of your old video tapes. Unfortunately, not everything can be perfect as age and deterioration occurrs over time. So does the equipment that plays the media also wear out. Parts for repairs are becoming difficult to obtain to keep these old machines going. Best to get them done as soon as possible.

The price range is estimated upon the tape length, condition, and quantity of tapes you need converting.  A lot of the issues with tapes is their susceptibility to wear and tear. The recorded material may also have tracking issues and damaged sections. So the estimated cost to convert under normal circumstances may vary from $30 - $40 per tape. Plus the cost of any hard drive or USB device. Repairs required to tapes that need some form of surgery may cost additional. PLEASE NOTE: This is not covered under Medicare.

DVD's are an additional $25 per disc. (As this depends upon the original tape length.  They are not recommended as a primary source for media conversions, due to their limited quality, capacity restrictions and access to DVD devices to play. You are more than welcome to bring in the tapes so I can get a gauge of their overall condition. Please contact the studio during opening hours. Sorry NO converions of copyrighted material.
