Why is portrait photography so “expensive”?

blogdecember

Our packages start at $249. You get four prints. Four measly little pieces of paper to take home with you. You’ll even have to buy your own frames. That’s a rip-off, right?

 WRONG.

Let’s just look at some of the things that go into making up that $249 package…

Two cameras and two lenses. Computers for image processing. Printers. The roof over our heads. Power to run the equipment. Telephone and internet connections to talk to you, upload your images, keep in touch with our clients. At least $30,000 worth of equipment is used to produce your images.

And all of that is before you even pay experienced professionals to meet with you before the session, photograph you, cull and correct your images, meet with you again for viewing and ordering, print your images, prepare packages, meet with you again when you drop in to pick up your prints, or sometimes go the post office to mail your images to you.

Your personalised portrait photography session might take two to three hours for you. It can take us two to three days or more of solid work. More often than not we’ll have two photographers for several hours at the session, and usually one photographer at a computer for several days afterwards.

We are not a mass produced photography service. We work with each client individually to discover their vision for their session. It is your image and your wall, and we want it to be what you envisaged. You want to shoot at the beach? You got it. The mountains? Sure. 6 in the morning? Midnight? New Year’s Eve? Whenever. We tailor each photography session to the individual to ensure that each client receives images they will love and treasure for generations.

$249 doesn’t look so expensive now, right? So why don’t you book a session with Infocus right now. It might be the best $249 you ever spent.
